POSITION: Instructor Ė Culinary Arts/Hospitality Management            DATE: July 1, 2002 

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:  Teach courses and implement the instructional program in accordance with course syllabi, College policies and Department of Postsecondary Education guidelines.  Advise and recruit students, assist in updating curricula, maintaining teaching equipment, serve on College committees and support the total mission of the College.  Coordinate instructional activities with the Program Coordinator or Division Director when applicable and other duties as assigned. Position requires extensive knowledge of the instructional discipline.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Required: Bachelorís Degree with 27 semester hours in Culinary Arts and/or Hospitality Management and willingness to obtain a Masterís Degree. Preference will be given to applicants with Masterís Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in field, additional studies in Business Management, 2 years formal or informal teaching/training experience in Culinary Arts and/or Hospitality Management, membership in and certification by the American Culinary Federation as a certified chef or certified culinary educator, course work in Adult Vocational Education, 5 years work experience in field, and ability to converse in Spanish 

SALARY:  Salary range for all instructors is $28,055 - $56,321 based on qualifications according to State Salary Schedule D for a nine month contract, plus $8,663 - $17,413 summer contract when available.
